Two scopes at the same time?
So I've seen pictures of people using two scopes on an assault rifle at the same time. What's the deal with this? Why do they do it and what's the purpose?

What you have there is a non magnifying Red Dot sight with a small magnifier mounted in front of it. The magnifier rotates up and allows you to bring it to bear quickly if you need some magnification in your sight picture.
*Note...these types of setups are specifically for close quarters combat. You don't really want a magnified sight picture (or much of a magnified sight pic) if you're doing work like that. The magnifier is there so that you can flip it up quick if you need to make a longer shot at something.
